What is the Youth Employment Services (YES) Program?

The YES Program has been designed to help you get a job, get into school and solve the problems that have been holding you back. YES will do this by giving you tools that will enable you to accomplish your goals while becoming independent and reaching your full potential.

How Much Does the Program Cost?

The program is FREE! There is no cost to you. YES is funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and is part of the One Stop System.

How Does YES Work?

The YES Program will assign you a Case Manager who will help you to identify your educational and employment goals. Your Case Manager will do this by meeting with you to develop a Service Strategy Plan. This will outline the services you need to help you achieve your goals.

YES, a part of the New Jersey Department of Labor's One Stop System, provides educational strategies and other types of assistance specifically for the youth (ages 16 - 24) of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.

The YES Program is funded by a Grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor.

Job Preparation
•The YES Program can link you with the Middle Earth VISIONS Program which will provide you with Pre-Vocational training and a paid career sampling that will be a good match for your interests and abilities.
•You will learn Pre-Vocational skills including resume writing and job interviewing.
•You will receive support in exploring employment opportunities and training upon completion of your career sampling.

How Can YES Help You Earn Money?

Your YES Case Manager will assist you with:

Job Seeking
•Identifying Your Career Interests and Setting Specific Career Goals
•Exploring Education and Training Opportunities in Your Chosen Career Field
•Applications for a Workforce Investment Act Training Grant of up to$4,000 for Eligible Training Programs

Link You with the Middle Earth Visions Program where you will:
•Attend 24 hours of paid job skills training ($9/hour) and receive a Work Readiness Credential
•Participate in an 12+ hours of paid career sampling ($9/hour)
•Work with a Case Manager on job seeking activities
